Edith Melendez, MS, Ed.S. (she/her)
Predoctoral Counselor

Edith was born in Los Angeles and raised in the capital city of apples, Wenatchee, Washington. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University. Thereafter, she pursued her Master’s degree in Counseling, and an Ed.S. Degree in School Psychology from New Mexico State University #GoLobos. Currently, she is a second-year doctoral student in the combined Ph.D. Combined School/Counseling Psychology Program completing her fieldwork experience. 

 

Edith believes in treating individuals from a holistic approach, and ensuring that her clients’ cultural background is well understood and valued within the therapeutic relationship. Edith applies differing multicultural therapeutic modalities such as CBT, feminist therapy, solution-focused, narrative therapy, and ACT. Edith values cultural factors, authenticity, and inclusivity, which she uses to build a safe and working relationship. 

 

Edith provides treatment for children, adults, individuals, and couples. She has previous experience working in public K-12 schools as a school psychologist and also community mental health with an interest and expertise in anxiety, depression, multicultural issues, and life transitions. Outside of Beyond the Pines, Edith loves spending time with her blue heeler dog, dancing, hiking, doing photography, and also taking day trips.
