Aaron Luckey, MSW (He/Him)

Licensed Master Social Worker

Aaron was born and grew up in South Idaho, spending a lot of time outdoors with Scouts and his family. He earned his undergraduate degree in Journalism from THE University of Idaho in Northern Idaho... #GooooVandals! From there, he worked for four years in wilderness therapy in Southern Utah and Southwest Nevada, working with adolescents and young adults. In 2009, he moved to Flagstaff while still working in wilderness therapy and fell in love with the small mountain town. He eventually moved and began to live here full-time where he then earned his Master of Social Work from THE Arizona State University from a Northern Arizona cohort program based at NAU in 2016.

In the past ten years, he has done case management for young people with developmental disabilities, while spending 7 of those years working with victims of crime at Victim Witness Services for Northern Arizona. He then became a Licensed Social worker (LMSW) and is working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Aaron comes from a trauma-informed background. In therapy, Aaron believes change comes from validation, reflection, and self-awareness in a safe environment that can facilitate vulnerability and introspection. His approach to therapy borrows from primarily mindfulness and humanism.

Aaron has a variety of hobbies that include cycling, disc golfing, tabletop role-playing games (Dungeons and Dragons), and community theatre. His family of five, plus two dogs, love to travel, experience new cultures, and go on adventures.
