Ben Maddock, MS (He/Him)
Clinical Mental Health Counselor & Predoctoral Practicum Student
Always a Hoosier at heart, Ben was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Media Advertising and his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University #GoHoosiers. After practicing as a mental health counselor, he moved to Flagstaff in 2023 to complete his doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Northern Arizona University. Today, as an associate counselor and a doctoral student, Ben has grown to love Flagstaff’s nature and community and is proud to call it home.
In his therapeutic work, Ben helps both children and adults navigate how their unique processing styles shape their social lives and self-image. He is particularly interested in helping clients foster deeper self-awareness, stronger interpersonal connections, and creating spaces for clients to explore their sense of self and identity. Ben has enjoyed working with clients through every life stage.
He is committed to community advocacy, continuing his research work with underserved rural counties in Indiana, and supporting the local Flagstaff community. His person-centered approach to therapy prioritizes a genuine, collaborative therapeutic connection and draws on evidence-based techniques to help clients navigate life’s journey.
When he isn’t in the office or out with friends, Ben is likely hiking around Flagstaff with his dog, Ash, playing (and watching) tennis with his wife, or gardening. On quieter days, he enjoys replaying childhood Pokémon games and getting lost in a book.
