Emily Fredrickson, BA (she/her)

Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern (MA)

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Emily moved to Flagstaff in 2021 after spending 13 years in California. With over a decade of experience in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, she has always been passionate about working with people. Emily’s path to the mental health field has been uniquely nonlinear, and she is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Arizona University. She enjoys working with clients from all walks of life, guiding them in their journey to build deeper connections with themselves and others.

Emily joined Beyond the Pines as a student intern in August 2024 and is on track to becoming a Licensed Associate Counselor in Arizona. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and curious, with a touch of light-heartedness. She strives to create a safe environment where clients can be themselves while navigating the complexity of life’s challenges. Emily’s training in trauma, mindfulness, and person-centered techniques enables her to adapt her methods to each individual’s evolving needs. She believes effective therapy is built on a genuine, supportive relationship where clients feel deeply heard, respected, and understood. Additionally, Emily is a certified Level I Gottman couples counselor, offering research-based strategies to support her client’s unique relationship goals.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys experimenting with new artistic crafts, baking bread, and spending time with her elderly pup, Chewbaca.
